Hello
My name is Debs and I am
Macarons by Kiwi Debs.

I am a wife, a mum to a teenage boy who is at University, love gardening and growing produce on my allotment and am totally macaron obsessed.
Originally from Auckland, New Zealand, I came over at the age of 21 for what we call "OE" - overseas experience. I wasn't planning on staying longer than the two years, but I loved it so much here it become four years and then I obtained residency through my Scottish ancestry.
I have been living here in the UK for over 30 years, but I still refer to myself as a "Proud Kiwi" even though I am more British but, New Zealand is still home.
My Macaron Story
My macaron journey began in 2019. I always wanted to master making these finicky little treat. I attended a French macaron masterclass, spent hours watching tutorials, testing various recipes, own a mountain of macaron books and a lot taste testing. I hate to think how many batches to make near perfection.
What started out as a hobby has now become a small business. I bake in small batches out of my kitchen at home and sell at markets and events. I also create macarons for special occasions such as weddings, parties, and other events.

I love to use high quality chocolate such as Callebaut, Cacao Barry, Valrhona for my ganache, fresh fruit purees, free-range eggs and locally made sugar (Silver Spoon).

End of last year, I started a new collaboration with a local café to supply macarons weekly. It is a new venture I will be looking to expand in the near future.
